We're continuing to enjoy our time in Chipping Campden. I love this cute and picturesque small town! We've been able to venture outside and explore, although not as much as we'd like. So much rain! It's hard believe there's a drought in England. We even had hail one day. Here's pictures of our patio during the hail:
But, thankfully, even when it rains, it doesn't rain all day. It's kind of strange actually. The sky will be beautiful with blue sky and puffy clouds, and then ten minutes later there's dark clouds and drizzle. During the non-rainy times, we discovered a great playground only about five minutes from our cottage.
Very cool zip line!
Who knew a metal bowl attached to the ground could be so much fun!
And across from the playground is a field of sheep! We've seen so much sheep in this area of England (the Cotswolds, that is). And, lots of lambs! I know sheep aren't smart, but they are so cute, especially the babies.
When we're not out sightseeing, the kids have to do some school. I can't believe they complain about it, because there's not much they have to do - some math, grammar, and journaling.
Math on the computer. I told Daniel to look studious, and for some reason , that made him smile.
For school stuff, we really tried to pack light. We have a couple workbooks, and then the kids can do stuff on the computer. Anna can even review her math facts on my iphone.
After school activities, the kids go off to their rooms to play.
And what's Kevin doing during all this activity?
Couldn't resist including this sign. I saw this on one of the paths near the playground.
And I just had to include some household pictures. As I think I said before, I've really struggled with the temperature thing - converting Celsius to Fahrenheit. Thanks to Scott Fields, who gave us the tip to double the number and add thirty (I think that's right). It takes mental effort though to do that. I know, I'm so weak minded! On the first night we were in the cottage, it felt cold upstairs, so Kevin went downstairs to turn the heat up. When he got back, I'm asked him what the temperature was on, and he said "17." I had to remind myself that it's Celsius! I asked what he turned it up to, and he just said he turned it up higher, and figured we'd get warmer. We joked about adding twenty, dividing by twelve, multiplying by thirty, whatever!
