This post is about what the kids wanted to do. Okay, not totally. We showed the kids our list of about twenty or more things that we wanted to do while we were in London, and we let them each pick two things from that list. We tried to include things that we thought they'd like - not all museums (although there are some pretty cool museums here!). So, by now, they've each gotten to do one of their choices.
Anna chose Sea Life, which is an aquarium. She saw a sign for it as soon as we got to London, and she'd been talking about it ever since!

It was pretty dark in the aquarium, so I didn't get many pictures. The kids all seemed to enjoy it. It's smaller than the Georgia Aquarium (most aquariums are!), but I think it had just the right amount of stuff to keep the kids interested. There was a stingray pool that had all kinds of different stingrays swimming around and sticking part of their heads (?) out of the water. And there was also a big tank with sharks and turtles and other kinds of fish swimming around. The last part we saw was a pool with penguins jumping and diving around the water. That was Anna's favorite part - she loved the penguins!
Daniel chose a Harry Potter walk. This was an organized tour where we met up with a guide and a group of other people at a designated place. There were about twenty or so people in our group, from Canada, Germany, England, and the U.S. The guide was great - very interesting and engaging. He talked a lot about some of the myths and legends that J.K. Rowling used for some of her characters. He also showed us some of the buildings that she based some of the places in the book on.
We ended the tour at King's Cross Station, and our guide handed out wands to all the kids.
And last, but not least, Justin picked Afternoon Tea. Before we came on our trip, we had heard that having "Afternoon Tea" is a neat thing to do - tea and yummy desserts. So we picked "The Orangery," which is next to Kensington Palace. We had a lovely time!
We got three different flavors (flavours?) of tea, Afternoon tea, Morning tea, and Wild Berry tea. Justin really liked the Afternoon tea, but all the kids liked the Wild Berry.

| I thought the bowl of the lumps of brown and white sugar was so neat. I guess we all liked it, since it was completely empty by the end of our meal! |
As you can tell in the pictures below, most of the food got eaten! The kids weren't crazy about the scones or sandwiches, but they enjoyed the desserts. Kevin and I took care of the rest...Glad we're doing so much walking in London!
