We had a lovely Easter day, even though it was different from what we would have done at home in Atlanta! What was the same though, was going to church to celebrate Christ. We went to the same church as last week, All Soul's Langham Place, and it was a great service - good music, good sermon, and even communion. I'm so thankful that we've been able to attend this church while we've been here. It really has felt like a taste of home, being around other believers.
After church, we stopped at a restaurant for a late breakfast. We were so excited to see pancakes on the menu! I didn't realize it, but I think pancakes are pretty American. And to add to our excitement, the menu also listed "American treat," crispy bacon.
After eating, we decided to head to the Covent Garden area to see the London Transport Museum. Before the going to the museum, we looked at a bunch of eggs! For the past couple weeks, London has been hosting "The Big Egg Hunt." They've placed 210 huge egg sculptures throughout the city, and you can text a number when you see one, and it raises money for some charities as well as gives them a chance to be in the Guinness Book of World Records. Whenever we were out sightseeing, we'd get so excited when we saw an egg. We didn't text, but of course we took lots of pictures!
Here's the first ones we saw, in Trafalgar Square:
We saw these in St. James Park:
These were scattered along Oxford and Regent Street, and one was even in the Liberty of London store!
For Easter weekend, they moved all the eggs to one area, in Covent Garden, so we had fun walking around looking at all the eggs. They were pretty creatively decorated!
