London, what a city! There is so much to see and do here. And there are so many people. Wherever we go, we hear all different accents and languages. We've been here about week now (we'll be here for three weeks total) and have developed a routine, sort of. We try to go out and do something in the morning/early afternoon, and then come back home for Kevin to work and the kids to do school. I didn't bring a lot of school stuff for them to do, just some math and writing and journal-ing.
Our apartment is in a very urban area. There's lots of noise outside, but with our bedrooms in the back part of our apartment, the noise doesn't interfere with our sleep! We're in the Fitzrovia/Bloomsbury part of London, so we're close to lots of things. And what we're not close to, we can take the Tube (the underground subway) to. So we pretty much walk or take the Tube everywhere we go. It looks like a nightmare to drive anywhere! And there's so much construction around, I think related to the city getting ready for the Olympics this summer.
Here's Kevin explaining the Tube to the kids, where the different "lines" are and what direction we need to go in. The kids have picked it up pretty fast!
Our first full day (Sunday) in London, we rode a double decker bus around town, and got off to ride the London Eye. It's a gigantic ferris wheel that goes over 400 feet high!
What a view! You can just barely make out Big Ben and Parliament!
After the London Eye, we headed over to St. Paul's Cathedral for an evensong service. Before the service we took a short tour inside the church. It was built by Christopher Wren and looking at the dome inside was amazing. We weren't allowed to take pictures inside, but it was beautiful!
After the service, we met up with a friend from Atlanta, Becca. It was so fun to see a friend from home!

"So we pretty much walk or take the Tube everywhere we go." Quite possibly the greatest sentence in the history of language.
